Our newest dry eye treatment
Burning, stinging, gritty eyes and difficulty wearing contact lenses are all signs of dry eye and treatment is available. This non-drug, non-surgical treatment is designed to enhance vision and eye health. The in-office procedure targets meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), alleviating dry eye syndrome symptoms. Radio frequency (RF) and intense pulsed light (IPL) are used to treat MGD and the inflammation associated with dry eye disease.
Dry eye syndrome can have many causes, which is why successful treatment begins with determining why your eyes are dry. Dr. Johnson will evaluate your tear film, eyelids and meibomian gland function and determine whether radio frequency (RF), Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) or a combination of both, or another dry eye treatment is most appropriate for you.
Many patients have reduced need for artificial tears.

At your personalized consultation, we determine if Envision RF/IPL is the right treatment for you. If it is, you can expect:

Comfortable procedure: Treatments are in our Chevy Chase, MD office and take about 30-45 minutes.

Minimal downtime: Return to your daily activities after your treatment.

Series of treatments: Initial treatment series usually consists of four sessions spaced one to two weeks apart.
Since MGD is a chronic condition, periodic maintenance treatments may be recommended.
